In the world of construction, where steel, concrete, and machinery dominate the landscape, Icon Metal stands out as a company that champions diversity and gender equality. As a proud member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Icon Metal goes above and beyond to advocate for women in the industry and provide opportunities for their growth and development.

Building a Bridge to Empowerment: In September 2022, we organised a remarkable technical workshop, opening our factory's doors to 30 NAWIC members. This initiative not only highlighted our commitment to the cause but also served as an opportunity to share knowledge, insights, and experiences. These workshops are essential in fostering a supportive community within the construction industry, making it an inclusive environment for women to thrive.

Investing in Professional Growth: We actively empower all our employees through corporate memberships with NAWIC. These memberships grant our workers access to a wide range of resources, including site tours, personal development workshops, and networking opportunities. This investment in personal and professional growth underscores our dedication to nurturing talent and leadership in the construction sector.

Celebrating Excellence: NAWIC Awards 2021: In 2021, we made waves as finalists at the NAWIC Awards for Excellence. We were recognised in not one but two categories, a testament to our dedication and commitment to excellence in the construction industry. While we didn't take home the awards, being a finalist in a highly competitive field was an achievement in itself.

Meet Project Manager Patricia Argolo: Patricia has demonstrated exceptional leadership and project management skills, overseeing large-scale projects such as the Parramatta Light Rail. Patricia is a true advocate for women in construction, paving the way for others in the industry to follow. We are excited to see Patricia being a finalist in the 2023 NAWIC NSW Awards for excellence in the category Project Manager of the Year. Her dedication, expertise, and commitment to empowering women in construction deserve to be celebrated. The winner will be announced at the awards night on Thursday 30 November and we'll be staying tuned to celebrate Patricia's achievements.

Crafting Excellence: Proudly Designing NAWIC's 2023 Awards Trophies: We are deeply honored to share that we have been appointed by NAWIC to design and fabricate the awards trophies for the 2023 Awards for Excellence. This opportunity not only allows us to showcase our craftsmanship but also serves as a testament to our unwavering support for NAWIC.
