Founded and established in 1996 by Michael Pribula, Icon Metal Fabrications Pty Ltd has earned a reputation for excellence in the construction industry. Stephen Pribula joined the company in its early years and went on to serve as CEO from 2016 to 2026, helping to uphold the company's long-standing commitment to exceptional service and superior workmanship.
The business began operations from an office and workshop in Granville with a team of five, specialising in miscellaneous metalwork. As the company grew, it expanded into structural steel fabrication, further enhancing its capabilities and broadening its market offering. In 2016, Icon Metal Fabrications became part of the Teaminvest Private Group of companies and subsequently rebranded as Icon Metal, reflecting its evolution into a broader and more diversified organisation.
Today, with 30 years of experience in the construction and infrastructure sectors, Icon Metal has grown more than threefold from its humble beginnings and now employs over 50 staff. The company delivers a comprehensive range of services, including architectural metalwork, structural steel, miscellaneous metalwork, glass, cladding, rigging, project management, BIM, fabrication, and site installation.
A key contributor to this growth has been Chris Farmer, who has been with the company since 2008 and whose leadership and industry expertise have played an integral role in the company’s development. In recognition of his significant contribution to the business and its strategic direction, Chris was appointed CEO in July 2026.

In 2024, Icon Metal was awarded by the Australian Steel Institute a Highly Commended for our nomination in the Australian Steel Institute Awards 2024 in the category Buildings: Small Projects, for our fabrication and installation of the 16 stop canopies, structural steel and integrated service cabinets on the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1.
