Our approach to sustainability

At Icon Metal we understand the importance of sustainability to our stakeholders, employees, clients and community. We acknowledge that we are accountable for our contributions to a warming planet and the devastating effects of climate change.

Our industry generates intensive carbon emissions and has a huge impact on the social and economic outlook of Australia, and we take our responsibility to mitigate our environmental and social impact very seriously.

EcoVadis Bronze Rating

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a Bronze Rating by EcoVadis, a globally recognized platform that assesses corporate sustainability performance.

This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to responsible business practices across key areas including:

Receiving a Bronze Rating places us among the top companies evaluated by EcoVadis, and highlights the progress we’ve made in integrating sustainability into our operations and supply chain.

Net Zero Strategy

In 2023 Icon Metal published our first Net Zero Strategy. Based on our FY22 GHG emissions, this strategy makes practical, achievable recommendations to eliminate, reduce or offset our emissions to achieve net zero GHG emissions by 2030.

In line with these recommendations we have switched to 100% renewably generated electricity and created an EV Ownership and Charging Strategy that will enable on-site charging and incentivise the purchase of EVs for our employees.

Our Net Zero Strategy is available upon request.

Modern Slavery

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes many forms, including slavery, servitude, human trafficking, forced and compulsory labour, all of which involve the deprivation of a person's liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

Icon Metal takes a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business dealings and relationships, as well as implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not exist anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chain, in accordance with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2018.
