In 2021, Icon Metal had the pleasure to install the stunning "Roof for stray thoughts" artwork by Studio Olafur Eliasson at Quay Quarter Tower for client Multiplex, developed by AMP Capital.

The artwork was fabricated in the Netherlands and divided into 132 members then shipped to Australia in 10 containers. With the assistance of Taylor Thomson Whitting (TTW), the installation methodology was thoroughly developed to meet Australian Standards.

26 customised pedestals were designed and fabricated in our workshop in Silverwater to level and support the 88 tonnes of steel.

Our site team has completed the 55-metre artwork installation in less than 2 weeks... A record!

The result is breathtaking, and we couldn't be more proud to have been able to honour this masterpiece.
